Quiet weekend

Hi all,
In spite of hot temperatures, the lake was very quiet over the weekend. I guess the threat of T-storms will do that.
A loon was on the nest whenever we checked but others were hard to find. We saw one swimming/diving northbound from the island Sunday morning. Shortly after we lost sight of it near Sucker Brook, one flew over us southbound around the island and then back to the north out of sight. Two were reported off Keewaydin Saturday evening, and for a while there was a single in the cove just outside the fishing access both Saturday and Sunday. Two have also been repeatedly reported on Silver Lake.
Below, the sun peeked through the clouds for a minute about 7:15 Saturday evening.

We were the only boat on our end of the lake to enjoy it.

Great Blue flew over and landed in the tree on the island. We see it all over the south end of the lake though.

was blocked by clouds. The picture doesn’t do the scene justice, believe me. I need to learn how to get the mountains in there too. Mike
