Just a reminder that GMP normally starts to lower the lake level starting on 10/1. If they stay on the schedule from years past, they will drop it 6″ in a few days from where it is now and then hold that until 11/1 when they will draw off another 10″ to 16″.
We still had one loon on the lake a couple days ago. No good pictures though so I thought I’d sent along this tired visitor to our deck.
This is a view of that other lake just west of us. This is from Port Henry looking back towards home. We’ve had a couple wonderful days riding the edge the Adirondacks, no traffic over there. Not much foliage yet either though. There is an occasional colorful tree here and there, and the swamps are looking like they are getting ready, but the best is yet to come.
