The loon chick and at least one adult are still here, and still at Silver Lake. The chicks have always stayed until sometime between the middle of November and the end of the first week in December. The last adult has always been gone by the second week in October though. I have no explanation.
I’m sending two e-mails tonight to share the wonderful pictures folks have sent.
These first two are from Vicki R, this first one looking across at Mountain View.
This one catches the north end on Mountain View and then on to Hooker Rd. and Lakeview Dr.
This is from us back down towards Vicki. Ignore the smudge please.
Rosie and I got skunked looking for snow geese at Dead Creek today but the leaves made the trip more than worthwhile. This one is the Salisbury Library.
On Rt. 125 in East Middlebury we got almost all the colors plus bare in one shot.
We got the yellow just a couple houses down. Leaf peepers went home way too early. Enjoy, Mike.
