The last few days

Hi all,
We’ve had a bonus summer month through September, the lake is so quiet. We’ve still been seeing what I’m guessing is our pair and our pair plus one, it won’t be long before they depart.
We had a visitor on our raft a couple days ago, great blue heron I think.

From down the road a little, Shelagh S. sends this barred owl. She didn’t say what it’s sitting on though.

4. Being admired

Yesterday we saw this tired looking loon feeding out front of us. It looks like it’s had a long summer. Maybe it’s one of the adults from Silver Lake or Goshen Dam.

With much help from Maryanne and Allon W, we got the Goshen Dam raft up a little out of the water. Hopefully it’ll dry out a little and lighten up over the winter. It does need some repair though. Eric, you’ll be hearing from me.

We finish with last night’s sunset from Ashley. Rosie and I are floating straight off her bow and didn’t even see her. Enjoy, Mike
